Mmmmmm, I received a fun treat in the mail the other day!  And it came at the perfect time because I’ve been trying reaaaaaaally hard to healthy my life up!  (And yes, that means less treats.  I didn’t say NO treats, I just said LESS.  Ha!)


And maybe you’ve already seen their newest cookbook (or already have it in your kitchen)…..but look what arrived from some of my favorite food bloggers on the web, Kate and Sara, from Our Best Bites.


400 Calories Or Less with Our Best Bites is their 3rd published cookbook and is FILLED TO THE BRIM with healthy, yet really delicious recipes!!!




I mean, come on……look at these recipes!  There’s no need to munch on rabbit food to keep your meals healthy!  Kate and Sara always have a knack for mixing flavors and keeping things delicious….but they’re also nice and simple, without fussy ingredients.




Like always, there are pictures on every page and even nutritional information with each recipe.  They’ve also included meatless, low-carb, and gluten-free chioce — so it’s kinda perfect for everyone, whether you’re trying to lose weight or just make better and more balanced food choices!


And I’m not going to lie — I’m most excited about the desserts!  Just check out these mini cheesecakes below.  Oh my.

    So excited that they did this cookbook–I love their site and their two other cookbooks. I love a good salad with lots of different flavors–berries, feta, grilled chicken, and almonds make my favorite combination!

    My favorite grilled dinner is salmon and asparagus and for dessert – grilled angel food cake with fresh strawberries. For the grilled angel food cake just take plain old store bought angel food cake and slice into 3 inch wedges and quickly dip into a simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water) and then grill till you get grill marks. Heaven !!! Can also add a bit of Amaretto (2 TBSP) to the simple syrup if there are no kiddos having this yummy dessert.

    My favorite low sodium healthy dish is Salmon with a squeeze of lemon, pepper, and dill with a healthy green salad filled with veggies, nuts, and fruit.

    Fresh Cut Salsa on ANYTHING… straight out of the bowl. :)
    Also Tuna and Tomato… a bit of olive oil and balsamic to top it off.
