I know, where have I been? {Pinterest Edition}

Okay, a little secret.  Yes, I have a pinterest account.  Yes, I add to it here and there.  And yes, I planned on sharing.  I have had plans to do a little blog makeover for many months now (you know, spring cleaning…..but now it’s summer) and just figured I’d wait until I finished that, so that I could add a PIN IT button to my other little social media buttons.

But holy smokes, I just can’t get my act together to get my ideas to my web designer.  So, that little button will just have to wait.  But if you are one who’s been asking where in the world my Pinterest Boards are…… you go.  And I don’t know how you did it, but some of you found me anyway.  Ha. :)

Anyway, here’s a few of my little ideas I’ve been tucking away for months now.  And I go through stages with Pinterest.  Sometimes I sit and pin and pin……and then I go through a drought and could care less.  Anyone else the same way?  (Or are you most of you stuffing each of your boards full of pins as quickly as I shove my fabric shelves with fabric?  Haha.  That’s a whole other issue!)  However, I love having it.  Because it helps with all of that darn bookmarking I used to do.  And this way, I can see everything in little pictures.  It’s an instant reminder as to why I wanted it.  And where to find it.  Yay.

Anyway, need a little Pinterest Browsing to do today?  Here you go:

A little bit of Baby Clothing…

A little bit of Style…

A collection of Kid Crafts…

Some Home Decorating Inspiration…

And yeah, some food too…

View these entire Boards…..and all the rest, here.

And soon, I will have this little site re-done.  Mostly just the colors.  Not so much the layout.  Unless you have suggestions about something that really bugs you.  I’d love to hear. :)  But when that’s finally done, I will add a little button right up at the top, so you can find me anytime over at Pinterest.

I like your blog the way it is, I think the colors are refreshing and bright.
    I am on Pinterest too!

Awesome! Can’t wait to follow you!! Can you share how you made your pins show up on your blog for this post? (If it’s super-techie, like code, don’t tell me, I probably won’t understand how to do it! lol.) Thanks!

ps I’ve never had a problem with pop-ups on this site…

  3. Patty says:

I can’t ever see the date of your post on my IPad or Iphone. If you could make it show that would be cool! :) Thanks!! I love your blog by the way!

  4. Dilla says:

Thanks for sharing your pinterest with us. I love your projects and how you make them look so easy :)

  5. Pam says:

Since you asked for suggestions about your blog for the revamp, I don’t mind how you split your page asymetrically, having a larger left side for text and a smaller right side for ads, etc. I like that quality. The only thing that bothers me is how the type on the left side of the page goes all the way to edge of where the page splits, if that makes sense. Maybe you could provide more of a margin? Maybe it’s just me? It’s mostly just appears on the homepage, not as obvious when you click to read more on each entry.

Oooh, thanks. That’s a good suggestion. I never really know how things look on other people’s screens. So thank you!

  6. Jennifer says:

OH MY GOODNESS. You pinned a project from my blog! I feel like a superstar to have made your Pinterest board!
And you’re going to think I’m a mega-geek, but the reason you had followers on Pinterest is b/c you said you were pinning ideas for Easter desserts. (I have an incredible memory for details like that. My husband thinks I’m crazy.)

    Hi Ashley,

I totally understand your need to have blogher(or any other) advertisements. I’m a blogger and I have ads on my blog too. i just find the popups kind of annoying, they’re a little difficult to ignore.
It was a popup at the bottom center of the page. I’m not sure if I hovered on anything that caused it to pop-up. It didn’t come-up this time though. I will let you know if it comes again (maybe with little more info). I do know that it wasn’t the ad on the right bar extending, it was a small pop up at the bottom.

    1. Ashley says:

Hmmmm…….I guess I’m on here so often that I haven’t really noticed one at the bottom. But I will look into that. I totally get when popups can get annoying. That’s why I got rid of the other one I had at the top. Not worth it! :)

  8. Anshu says:

Since you have asked about things that bug us. I’ll add something – Whats up with the Blogher popup ad. Would it be possible to get rid of that. Pop up ads are my pet peeve for any website/blog. Having said that, Make It and Love It is my most favorite blog ever…and I visit tons of them. So I’ll continue to visit you no matter what, just wanted to speak out because you asked.

    1. Ashley says:

Hey Anshu, no, I’m glad you’re speaking up. Thanks you! I’m just trying to figure out which popup ad. Hmmm….are they popping up on the right and expanding? I know sometimes those get bigger and may be annoying. Or are you talking about the very top of the blog? I used to have one up there that was optional and realized it was really annoying. The ones on the right aren’t very adjustable though. However, I’m pretty sure if you don’t hover over them they won’t expand. Or is there something else that I’m missing? Or not noticing? If it’s something I can tweak, I’ll look into it. However, BlogHer helps me keep this blog running so I can’t remove them completely. But I’m totally willing to look into it more.

      Anything else?

      Thanks Anshu!

Oh! great to know about your Pinterest account! I’ve been wondering if you had one. And I LOVE your blog how it is!! The
colors are great and I don’t think it needs to be changed, but I’m kinda new here so I guess I don’t see it as much as you! and you seem to have good taste, so I’m sure it’ll be super cute! :)

  11. Brandy says:

Hi! I found your blog through another friend and love getting your posts. I do have a question though. Do you perchance have a previous post on how to add some elastic to say the wait of store bought pants? I have a husky little boy who desperatly wants to wear jeans like everyone else, but its practically impossible to find any to fit well in the wait, and not be HUGE in the legs and a million miles long. :) Thank you in advance. :)

I got into PInterest and then kind of got out because of the copyright issues/scare thing. I’m a nervous nellie anyway, so I don’t pin much anymore. But I do love to see what other people have on there!

  13. Julie Snow says:

Yes, I was one who already had found you and I love following your boards. Thanks for sharing!

  14. Heather Ferguson says:

OMG, do you really already have almost 800 followers??? Did that all happen this morning after you posted this? I continue to love everything you do; thanks for the inspiration. Can’t wait for another Denver crafters meet-up!

  15. Hannah says:

I really got into Pinterest right around the time I found out I was pregnant with baby #3. During those three months of morning/all day sickness, I’d sit at the computer and browse Pinterest since I was too nauseous to do anything else. For the next few months after that, every time I looked at Pinterest, it reminded me of all that morning sickness and I would literally feel like throwing up. So glad I’m over that now and can waste all my time on Pinterest again, lol.
