Creamy Greek Yogurt Fruit Dip

I love me some fresh fruit.  During the winter, the selection lessons and the quality suffers.  But when spring starts peeking around the corner, we tend to see a bigger variety of sweet fruits in the produce section.  And once we see the strawberries plumping up and the raspberries deepening in redness, we start buying and eating them more often.  Mmmmmmm.

It all started changing last week, when those quart containers of juicy red strawberries were on sale for $2.29. They’ve been about $4 all winter……..so the sale price reeled me right in.  So I bought 2 containers.  And then grabbed some other berries while I was at it.

And because I was celebrating strawberries going on sale, I decided to amp up the celebration.  And whipped up my favorite condiment for fresh berries: Creamy Greek Yogurt Fruit Dip (which can also be made with regular yogurt….and is just as delicious).

This stuff is sweet and creamy, is loaded with protein (and those good probiotics)………and will create an addict out of you! :)

Don’t believe me?  Just try it.  Give it a dip and you’ll see……your plate of fruit will disappear in seconds.

But if you’re serving a large number of people, sometimes it’s easier to cut up your fruit, add in the creamy yogurt mixture, and create a creamy fruit salad.

Mmmmmm…..it’s practically dessert. :)

I tell ya…..I can’t get enough of this stuff.  And sometimes, I create a meal out of it.  And just eat a big bowl of this stuff for lunch.

Wanna make some too??  You only need 3 ingredients!

Ready, set, go!  This is super easy.

All you need is some heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and yogurt.  Pour 1 cup of cream into your mixer (a hand mixer works too) and beat on high speed until soft peaks form.

Then, sprinkle in a 1/4 cup of powdered sugar.

Continue whipping it up on high speed until stiff peaks form.

Now, add some yogurt.  I have used regular yogurt many, many times but my favorite type to use is greek yogurt.  I love all the added protein and it’s just a lot creamier.  These little tubs are 4 oz so I used 1.5 of them…..making it 6 ounces of yogurt.  (Oh, and as a side note……my FAVORITE type of greek yogurt is Oikos Caramel flavor.  Of all the greek yogirt out there, it’s the creamiest to me and the caramel flavor tastes like butterscotch pudding.  It’s the only type I buy.  Yum!)

Stir the yogurt into your whipped cream by hand, folding it in gently until it’s combined.

Then, place in bowls and dip away……..or add to your bowl of chopped fruit and create a fruit salad! YUUUUUM!

This is the amount of dip I make for about 4-5 cups of chopped fruit.  However, you may like more or less…..so adjust accordingly.

Oh, you need a quick recipe card??  Here you go!
