I believe in heaven.
And I believe that in heaven, we will be eating stuff like this……. :)
I have loved the orange/creme flavor of things since I was a little girl. But this delicious recipe intensified that love. The creme in this recipe is rich and so smooth, topped with the blast of orange sherbet on top………………..Oh yum. You will not be disappointed. Promise.
It really is the perfect summer treat.
I got this recipe from a Kraft magazine that I get in the mail every once in a while for free. I will list the recipe here but will share my alterations at the end.

Frosty Orange Creme Layered Dessert
2 cups orange sherbet
1 package cream cheese (8 oz)
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup orange juice
1 tub (8 oz) cool whip
First, line a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan with foil. Spread the sherbet onto bottom of prepared pan to form even layer.Freeze 10 min.
Meanwhile, beat cream cheese in large bowl with mixer until creamy. Gradually add condensed milk and juice, beating until blended. Gently stir in cool whip. Pour over sherbet in pan.
Freeze 3 hours. To unmold, invert pan onto plate; remove foil.
**I increased the sherbet to about 3 cups and would next time only use half of the creamy topping. While it is incredibly good, the topping is pretty rich. It turns out to be twice as much as the sherbet and I think it would taste much better and more balanced, if the two flavors were equal in quantity to each other.

But don’t let this fool you. It is the perfect cool, sweet treat.
Sorry about that…..it's an 8 ounce package. :)
Looks incredible and can't wait to make it, but for the cream cheese, is it a 4 oz or 8 oz package?
I think it will make a great ST Patty's Day dessert, since orange and white are two of the colors on Ireland's flag :)
Take part of the cream topping & add some green food coloring. Then you’d have orange, white center,& green bottom, thus Irish flag : ) Happy St. Patrick’s Day !
Good idea. Love this.
This looks so yummy! I'm going to make it next week, even if it's still cold outside.
I don't think i want to wait until summer to make this…. it looks absolutely DELICIOUS!!! Yummers!!
think I might make this the next time we go to the inlaws for dinner!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
Regards from Australia,
Angela
Hi Angela…..sorry about the confusion! And cool whip….hmmmm, it is like whipped cream but it's non-dairy normally and seems to be stiffer and hold up thicker in recipes. But it's used just like whipped cream. I think if you used whipped cream, the dessert would be just as tasty. As for sherbert, it's like ice cream, but made with fruit juice and sugar. And some cream too. It's lighter than ice cream and a great summertime dessert. I don't have a recipe for it myself but imagine there are many places to find it online.
Best of luck and happy you've found this site. Enjoy!
Ashley
Hi, Just flound your website, and I think it is simply wonderful. Tis dessert seems gorgeous, however I am from Australia and have no idea what orange sherbert is or cool whip. Is the cool whip similar to whipped cream? As for the sherbert…is there a recipe to make it from scratch?
I do look forward to reading more of your blog. Thank you so much for sharing it with the world.
Regards
Angela
just made this for company… super BIG hit. thanks for the recipe!
um this looks magnificent. I think I may try it this weekend! :-)
I enjoy all your crafty ideas, but must say this one I couldn't pass up!
I put mine in a 9 x 13…one tub of orange on the top (I didn't feel like measuring)…next time I'd put one on the top and one on the bottom! Perfect summer yum!
Oh wow that looks amazing
Thank you so much for this recipe!! Creamsicles are my favorite frozen treat. I can't wait to make this!!!
That looks good! You could always increase the sherbet to 4 cups and then split everything between two pans. If you didn't need both right away, the second would probably last in the freezer for a week or so. Maybe?
Love creamsicles, so this sounds just delicious. Just the type of thing I expect to eat in heaven. :)
Ooo, thangs for sharing!!
ohhhhh yummy! I am going to have to give it a try! I just love orange creamsicles!! You are awesome!!
That looks divine!
It looks so good!
I made a dessert for a baby shower similar to this. I put it on a graham cracker crust and it was delicious and devoured quickly!
Yum! I will definately have to try this.
I get the Kraft magazine too, it has some really great recipes and you can't argue with the price!! ha. I didn't see this one though, looks yummy. I imagine you could always mix up the flavour of the sherbet too if you're not partial to orange.
I love your idea. Maybe raspberry. Or lime. Now I can’t wait to try it in a different flavor.
mmmmm
Oh my! My mouth is watering!!!
My son would love this dessert! I don't tent to like orange cream flavors but he very much does. I think this would be a great surprise dessert for him. Thanks!
