Everyone has something on their “To Learn How To Do” list, right?? Well, mine is knitting. And crochet. I mean, I kinda know how…and I understand the logistics. And I know how to create basic lines of stitching for both. But I have never really taken the time to actually get creative with it…and do it well! I keep seeing really darling knitting and crochet projects that I would love to figure out…but have never tackled it.
So, I have gathered some really basic knitting and crochet techniques and beginner projects that I would like to attempt….and see what comes of it.
Anyone want to join me??
I’ve separated the two techniques…..in case you’d rather stick with one over the other. Hope that helps! And let me know if you give any a try!

Great list! I’m in the same position, although I’ve never tried crochet but I really want to. These are such great projects that I’ll defiantly be giving a few of them a go when I finally get round to learning properly!
You must also add to the list above Moogly.com (I basically taught myself to crochet using her brilliant series of tutorials) and then also New Stitch A Day which details a new stitch or technique every day for crochet and knitting :)
Watch out, it will be a new obsession, and you’ll have to make room in the fabric stash for yarn. Ask me how I know, hee hee ;-)
Love this! Thanks for sharing!
So happy you are knitting Ashley! If you ever need any help let me know! :)
Thank you for collecting all these! It’s actually too much information, LOL. I basically know how to, but I haven’t iin so many years, I need refreshers! Thank goodness for the Internet, huh?
I am glad you have posted this. I know how to crochet. I am not an expert by any means. I have been crocheting for about 2-3 years and have taught myself. I am interested in learning how to knit, so I am excited to see this post.
Thank you, I will let you know how things come out. My take a bit of time for me to get back to you.
Sounds like fun! I think I’ve got the granny square down after making 2 afghans (crochet). And I’ve knitted a few scarves. I would love to learn to make some baby booties, but I have a hard time understanding the patterns.
