A few changes……

Are you up late like I am?  Well, if you’re living on the east coast it’s late…
Anyway, I am so excited to share with you a few changes.  So I had to stay up to finish them.
First off, Make It and Love It has switched to a domain.
So the new address here is makeit-loveit.com
Make sure to re-bookmark and change your links.  That would help all of this craziness a ton.
Onto a new addition to the blog…
I have to say that one of my favorite things is receiving emails with pictures of projects that you have all done.  Or even links to your own blogs, showing me what you have made while using my tutorials.  Aww, so great to see.  And do you remember the virtual costume parade post from last halloween when I uploaded all of those pictures?  So fun to see.  Since then, I have been wanting to open up a photo group so that we could see that sort of thing all year long.
So I have started one here, after many recommendations from many of you to use flickr.  So it should be ready to go.  It’s called YOU MADE IT…and LOVE IT.
A link to the group will also be available under my header at the top, the second yellow button from the right.  (Any flickr tips are appreciated…..I’m a first time flickr member.  I have viewed flickr accounts for years but haven’t participated until today.  Whew!)
The projects should be ones that were created from Make It and Love It tutorials or inspired from them somehow. Feel free to leave comments over there and be sure to mention what tutorial you were testing out…..that will help others to find the same project.
So go and add your photos of the projects you’ve been working on, so that we can all see.
I also have a big secret I have been dying to share.
The kind that puts your stomach in knots because you can hardly keep your lips zipped.
Are you ready?

I have a great friend who used to live across the sidewalk from me.  (….but now lives almost 3,000 miles away, on the other side of the country.  Darn.)  This girl is the kind of friend that you can knock on her door late at night and beg for 5mL of Motrin for your teething toddler because your bottle just ran dry…..and she would send you home with a plate of cookies too.  And also the type of person that makes a mean batch of chili and shares it with the whole complex……including the apartment manager.  (“Hey, why not, I have plenty!”) This friend of mine also happens to be a wonderful self-taught cake decorator with a whole treasure trove of secrets and tips tucked away.
Let me introduce you to Brittany.
Brittany runs her own little business and sells cakes locally from her home and has quite a following of customers that not only love the look of Brittany’s cakes…..but everyone knows that Brittany’s cakes will taste delicious at the same time.  Once again, all part of her secrets.
The news is, that Brittany has agreed to team up with Make It and Love It and run a once-a-week cake decorating series called the make-a-cake series.
(There will always be a link over on my right sidebar….and once she starts posting, the image will link up with all of her posts.)
She will explain the basics, share secrets, offer advice, and show some really great step-by-step skills….easy enough for anyone to tackle. You’ll soon be able to impress your family and friends.
(And she swears she’s not a professional and has a long way to go……but I say she’s just being modest!)

Just look at some of the work Brittany has done.
So incredible.
Don’t you just want to hop on over to Brittany’s house and watch her as she works?
Well, that’s exactly what she’s going to let us do.  Eeeeh, I’m so excited to watch.
Brittany will be posting once a week and will have full access to this site.  So if you leave a comment for her under one of her posts, she will be looking at them and trying to get back to people as soon as she can. You are also more then welcome to email Brittany with any questions/comments/suggestions at bjx206@gmail.com.  She is happy to hear from you.
And her first post will be tomorrow (or today….it’s late here!) Tuesday April 27th.  She’ll be starting with some basics and creating a cake start to finish……..and then going more basic later on.  No worries, there’s something for everyone.
Anyway, there are some other minor changes that I’m working on to fine tune this site but for the most part, Make It and Love It will be the same.  Just a new domain to remember.  And some cake decorating to get started on!
Hope your eyes adjust to the new color on this site.
Enjoy your week!
