Surprise…….a whole new look!!!

If you’re having issues seeing my new design (it should be more of an aqua blue color, no longer green), then it’s probably a cache-ing issue with your computer.

The cache (pronounced “cash”) is a space in your computer’s hard drive and in RAM memory where your browser saves copies of previously visited Web pages. Your browser uses the cache like a short term memory. Instead of downloading an image from a recently viewed website, it will load the image from your cache folder, thereby making the browsing process a little quicker. When the cache files become out of date or are taking up too much room, you can delete them……and will be able to see updates on web pages, like mine. :)

Some computers have different caching settings and that’s why some people were able to see the new design right away, while others were not. To resolve this, you’ll need to clear your computer cache. If you’re unsure how to do this, try googling it.  There are so many browsers and versions of each browser and then PC, MACS, etc……so it would be impossible for me to list them all here.  So, try googling, “clear cache for Internet Explorer” or “clear cache for Internet Explorer on a MAC” or whatever describes what you’re using. Hope that helps!

Let me know if you have any other issues!

. . . . .

Did you think you came to the wrong place today?  I know……..I’m not used to it yet either. ;)

Over the weekend, my blog had a little facelift.  My last green look was a little tricky on some computer monitors.  It looked happy and cheerful and apple green for some (which is how it looked for me!), it was a little more intense of a highlighter green for others, and then for some of you…….it made your eyes bleed! Sorry about that. :)  Green is a hard color for web designing, I hear.  Ooops.

This little makeover has been months and months (and months) in the works.  And that’s only because of my indecisiveness. But I’m so happy it’s over. And so glad to spare some of you a green-overload headache! ;)

Anyway, most everything is the same around here.  The navigation is the same, the tabs are the same, the search bar is the same, etc.  But I have added a few things here or there……just let me show you.

Up in the upper right hand corner, there are a bunch of yellow circles with all of the fun social media links in them. See them??  – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – -^

The 1st and 3rd, Facebook and Twitter, have been around a while.  And that little Pinterest one, well that account has been open and I have linked to it here and there……but I finally have a button for it, to help us BOTH get to it a little easier! :)  And oh gee, I have finally started up an Instagram account.  What in the world has taken me so long?!  I know, I know, I’m always about 75 steps behind with all of this new fangled stuff.  But I think it’ll mostly be fun for me to have a place to put all those random photos that hang out on my phone.  So, more of the personal side of my life.  And maybe I’ll show you more photos of how messy my crafting space really is! ;)

But the flickr, feedburner, and email subscription are still there.  No worries.

And because the green had to be deleted from everywhere I placed it, Facebook also had a little mini facelift:

And so did Twitter:

Oh, and have any of you noticed that the drop-down “Tutorials” button at the top wasn’t allowing you to click on it for a few months??  Well…’s fixed now.  You can select a category from the drop-down box now (if you hover over it with your mouse) and it will take you right to that category.  Whew!

And well, I think that’s about it.

Emily, from Junelily Web Design, completely overhauled things for me again…..bless her heart!  I can’t say enough good things about her.  She is about 20 steps beyond patient and if I wasn’t perfectly happy about something, she insisted we go back and make it absolutely perfect.  I’m so happy she took me on again, for round 2!

**If you’re reading this in your email or in your feed, you probably have no clue what I’m talking about.  Go here to see the new look!

. . . . .

Anyway, I realized that I had never even hinted towards this facelift…….so I didn’t want anyone to think that Make It and Love It was highjacked by some heart-&-blue-stripey-lovin’ invader.  Nope, it’s just me.  Toned down a bit! ;)

I’ll be back tomorrow.  With something fun for the kiddos! And oh wait, maybe for you too! :)

  7. Ellie says:

The page color is great, but I didn’t get any photos?? all blank.

    1. Ashley says:

  9. Peggy Kempf Willoughby says:

I would use the Cameo to do crafts with my grandchildren so I could make memories even though distance separates us.

  10. aussiebeachgirl says:

My own little blog is still very much a work in progress. I mean…it’s taken me months to understand the blogosphere jargon, and we’re still not there! I could definitely do with a few handy hints on how to set up the social links icons – so if anyone out there can talk me through it, I’ll be able to share it with you one of these days. :-) Cheers, heather x

  11. dannyscotland says:

I love the new look, and you inadvertently helped me with a computer issue on my laptop. It was running so slowly and it turned out my cache had 1 GB!!! Yikes! But that’s all fixed now, so thanks! :-) The site looks great!

  12. Anna Rose @ The How-To Gal says:

  16. Patty says:

Love the new look – the color scheme is great! And you have NO IDEA how MUCH I would have to clean-up my craft room to get it to your messy! ;-)

    1. Ashley says:

Haha! Maybe I showed you the wrong corner! And the wrong room!!! ;)

  17. Annette says:

I love the new look!! And about your craft room, I thought I was the only one!!! I always tell everyone it is an organized mess. I know where everything I need is. The sad thing is, I don’t have a craft room. That is my dining room!! I put a fold up banquet table at the end of my dining room table and just extended my mess all the way into the living room!!!

    1. Ashley says:

Ha…….I can’t tell you how many years I did that. And then we ate up to the counter. ;)

  18. claire says:

Not working on my Mac either… Still green, and the Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. buttons are just blue hyperlinks to the left of a blank screen. If I scroll down, the actual blog posts, pics, etc. look just like normal, so with the screen shots in the post I can see what it’s supposed to look like (I think!). From what I can see, it’ll be just lovely when the kinks are worked out! :)

    1. Emily June says:

Hi Claire, try refreshing your browser. Sometimes when a website gets a whole new design, there may be caching in your browser that prevents you from seeing the new look. So, could you clear your browser or simply refresh your browser page and see what happens? You shouldn’t be able to see any “green” on the new look – that’s stil the “old” design you’re seeing and that only happens when your browser cache needs to be cleared. Hope that helps!

  19. Linda R says:

I love the new look! Its so easy to find all your awesome stuff :)

  20. Shantell V. says:

I love it too! It looks great! Love the new logo too :)

  21. Kristin says:

I love the new colors! (I’ve been wanting to redo my front room and kitchen in this color scheme. It’s so cute! And, like others, I’m glad to know I’m not the only one with a messy craft room!

  22. Steph says:

    Lookin’ Good!!! <3 namaste!

  23. Dawn says:

I had to click compatability mode for it to work on my PC. Not sure why but it was still green and the buttons were all ove the place before that. But now that I can see it it looks great, aqua is one of my favourite colours :) I liked the green before, but I guess it must have looked nicer on my screen than others!

  24. Sophie says:

I like the new look, worths the work! (Tough I liked the old one too…)
You should make a contest for the worst craft space! I could win :)

  25. Leo says:

sorry to spoil the fun, but on Chrome for Mac the new design is a complete mess…

    1. Hatsuho says:

I have Chrome on a Mac and everything looks great!

    2. Alison says:

I am using Chrome on a Mac also and everything seems to be just right. Lovely new design!

    3. Emily June says:

Hi Leo, do you have more details about what you mean by your comment? What is off in your browser? Or what appears to be “a mess” in your browser? Do you have the latest version of Chrome installed? This design has been checked in chrome on various Mac computers and browser programs and looks normal in all of them. Keep us posted what you’re seeing so we can look into the issue further if there is one. Thanks!

    4. Emily June says:

Hi Leo, I think we figured out the problem. It may be that you’re having browser cache trouble and not fully seeing the new design in your browser. Sometimes when a website gets a whole new design, there may be caching in your browser that prevents you from seeing the new look right away. Could you clear your browser or simply refresh your browser page and see what happens? If you’re seeing the green design, that’s stil the “old” design you’re seeing and that only happens when your browser cache needs to be cleared. Hope that helps!

  26. Marie says:

SO glad my craft space has such good company in the World of Chaos and Disorder :) Thanks for making me feel not so bad about it. Now if only I could convince my dear hubby that chaos bring about creativity… or find time to straighten it up.

  27. Eva Scott says:
