Hello Make It and Love It readers! It’s Emma from Crafting{E} back here! I think you will love the project I’m sharing with you today. Introducing this adorable (and printable) birthday box idea. If you have been following along with me for a while, or even if you have just read my posts on Make It and Love It, you know I am ALL about keeping it simple and cheap!

This birthday box is great if you love either of those things. Who doesn’t love things that are simple and cheap… honestly? I personally love getting gift cards as gifts because that way I can pick out exactly what I want and the giver doesn’t have to worry about whether I will like the gift or not. I mean it’s free money -who would say no to that?

Many people hesitate to give gift cards because they seem impersonal. While I don’t personally think that, I completely understand where those people are coming from. Hand-making this little birthday box and filling it with some shredded paper and a gift card is a perfect way to make a gift card seem a little less impersonal.

I also love the fun bright design of this little birthday box. It is sure to light up anyone’s day when they open it up. I filled mine with some nail polish and a loofah because that is what I had on hand. The possibilities are really endless when it comes to filling this box up. It would also be so cute to fill it with ingredients for a single serving cupcake!

The only materials you need to make the birthday box is the design printed out on card stock, something to fill the box with, tape, and some scissors. I’m guessing those are things you already have somewhere around your house which means this box is a super inexpensive way to dress up a gift. Did I mention it’s easy to make, too? Seriously, guys, you can’t pass this idea up!

  • Now, take your adhesive and glue the flaps to the sides so that the yardstick forms the top of a box.
  • Repeat the first five steps again except do it to your blank piece of card stock. Note that you will need to measure your flaps to be 2.52” wide so that the bottom box can fit inside the top box.
  • Fill the box with your goodies and give it to someone you love!
