Virtual Halloween Costume Parade 2013…..YOU ALL blew me away!!

First of all, is October really over?  Is it truly November?!?! I’m still having a hard time digesting that Thanksgiving/Christmas is right around the corner.  Crazy.

Second of all…..sorry I didn’t post this year’s Virtual Halloween Costume Parade.  Yesterday, was, hmmmmmm……crazy!!  So, let’s just pretend that the real reason that I didn’t post yesterday, was to allow time for stragglers who still needed time to post their pictures.  (In fact, I think I will always wait until the day after, so that all of you have time to share.  There were several of you who added your photos yesterday and even this morning.  Perfect!)

Now, let’s chat about all of you clever sewists.  (Or glue gun-ists!!) This year was PHENOMENAL!!  So many great ideas!  SO MANY darling costumes!  I mean, really……how could I narrow it down to only a few of you.  So, you’re all going up on the blog today.

Now, go on……gawk away!  And then applaud!  Because these costumes are going to make you smile a big huge smile. :)

(If I could squeeze you all, I would.  And you can consider me a very proud friend of yours!!!!!)

(It took me a second to figure this one out, so in case you’re the same way…..they’re the Royal Family.  Now that you know that, they’re so SPOT ON, huh?!  LOVE THIS!  And that Queen of England kills me!!)

**If I somehow missed someone, let me know.  Totally my error! :)

Wow, wow, and WOW!!!!!  I am in LOVE with them all!  And am so happy that other moms/grandmas/neighbors/friends are crazy like I am, and will lose hours of sleep/chores/relaxation to put a costume(s) together.  So. Much. Fun!!!!!!

Thanks again for sharing!  Until next year…

    Very Cute! Love it ..:)

  2. Aliceson says:

These are so adorable! I loved looking at all the pictures. I like homemade costumes, so much more original than seeing 5 of the same Spidermans at the door. :) Thanks for sharing!

  3. Jody Brittain says:

Loved Everyone of them! Very cute! AND waiting till the after Halloween is very good, as when my kids were little, I took pics on Halloween of them in their costumes. Good job!

  4. heidimarie says:

Oh, WOW! Those are some amazing costumes! I am all the more impressed because my typical Halloween MO is: “Hey, kids! We’re trick or treating in five minutes! Run down to the dress-up bin and see what you can pull together!” I’m totally serious–I put zero effort into Halloween costumes, but I love seeing the creative things other people come up with!

And the two little Mary Poppins in the “Sweeter Than Cupcakes” photo–am I the only one who thinks that the blonde cutie in the white dress is a young Julie Andrews look-alike?!? That is exactly how imagine Julie Andrews’ toddler picture would look!

  5. April says:

    Oh my! Precious!!!!
I am so glad you shared all these!

  6. Kristina Noall says:

I have to say…tons of talented and creative people, but the Muppets (especially Swedish Chef, lol!!) made me SO happy! Good times! And the pea shooter from Plants vs. Zombies, so awesome! I can’t wait to show my husband! Great job, everyone!!

  7. Andrea says:

Wowza pictures! I think my favorites were the Man with the Yellow Hat from Curious George (swoon for cute factor) and the UP movie family. Brilliant. I also loved the Royal Couple (which I got after a minute.)They look scarily like them…especially the queen.

My son was the be-doe Minion. We bought his costume but his dad taped 3 red SOLO cups to his head that had flashing bicycle lights in them It amazed me how many kids (and adults) called out be-doe when they saw him. It was so funny. My daughter and I went as villains; she was the Wicked Witch of the West, and I made myself into Cruella Devil. One guy on our street went as Gruella, the Fairy Princess from Despicable Me 2 but by the time I got to that house where my husband saw him, he’d already left.

  8. Annie says:

Thank you so much for posting all the photos! This is such a fun parade! I love the ghost busters and piano playing puppy! They are cute and made me laugh!

    Hi Ashley,

I emailed you last week when you posted your Rapunzel costume. I know I talked alot about my son with Rhabdomyosarcoma and may have gotten off track with the costume. I would really seriously love for you to make my 17 year old an outfit. You can contact me at my e-mail address or call me at (603) 964-1313. I am not a seamstress and I would really like to surprise my daughter with costume. Tangled is her favorite disney movie and I have not been able to pull off a great surprise for her in more that 3 years. Please contact me either way. I do realize I am on the east coast and you are almost on the other side of the country but that really doesn’t matter as I feel like you are really close.

Thank you for considering my crazy request.!!!!!!!

  15. Heather @ What Does She Do All Day? says:

I grew up with homemade costumes so I wanted the same for my kids. I even made my dog a homemade costume every year before we had kids! And until the second kid came along he was coordinated with my older daughter. Thanks for putting the parade together! I loved checking out the other costumes and it was fun to see my Elephant & Piggie among them.

  16. Gina S says:
